Billy B. Sellers, MD
I was born and raised in Alexander City, AL the son of a textile worker and secretary. I graduated from Benjamin Russell High School, and finished college and medical school at the University of Alabama. My six years of post graduate training was done in San Diego, CA at the University of California. I spent three years in the Navy during the Vietnam War era, then for the next 3 ½ years became a teacher and researcher at the Medical College of Georgia and the University of Tennessee.
Along the way, my wife Sherry and I had three wonderful children. Big city life soon lost its appeal for us and we were all eager to return to the comfort of small town life. So, in 1981, I left the academic world and started a general pediatrics practice here in my home town of Alexander City.
Alexander City has been a wonderful place to raise our three children who are now adults. For almost 30 years I have had the privilege to know and treat thousands of children, many of whom have grown up and now have children or even grandchildren of their own who come to me for help and support. I can truthfully say that my medical practice is a spiritual and enriching experience for me. I love my patients and sincerely work for their best interests.
There is no greater gift of God than to be able to help and serve your fellow man.
